Animal Series: Raven
For this project, we were to create a series of three animals that carried a theme (ex: long necks, same habitat, same species, etc) and give each animal a slightly different design. Because of my name, I decided to draw a series of ravens. The design, I styled after that of early Native American artwork, particularly after the fashion of the Tlingit and other Native Alaskan tribes. |
Skeleton Project:
The main requirement for this project was to incorporate at least half of a skeleton, using one to two mediums. Naturally, I decided to portray a dying half-skeleton knight battling a dragon atop a pile of bones and gold in a dark cavern. The fire, and all things areas illuminated by it, we're done in colored pencil. The rest I did in pen and ink. Some of the places where I transitioned from fire to ink were done in black colored pencil. The dragon design I based off of many various creatures including the bearded dragon (aka bearded lizard), the iguana, the Komodo dragon, the vampire bat (yes, it's a real subspecies of bat), and many other strange lizard species, some of which may have been extinct. |
